WASHINGTON -- It has taken almost a season-and-a-half to get there, but the Dallas Mavericks have finally been able to get their won-loss record to six games over .500.
The last time the Mavs have had such a friendly record was when they ended the lockout-shortened 2011-'12 season with a 36-30 worksheet.
Wednesday night's downright ugly 87-78 win over the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center pushed the Mavs to 19-13 on the season.
"It’s been a long road, but we’re here,'' forward Shawn Marion said. "Now let's see if we can keep building on it and keep taking one game at a time and do what we’ve got to do to help each other.''
