The Mavs, who never trailed in this game, are now 21-16 on the season, while the Pelicans fell to 15-20.
The two teams will now pack their gear and fly to Dallas, where they'll meet each other Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at American Airlines Center.
Coming off a season-low eight points during Wednesday's 22-point loss in San Antonio, Nowitzki was back on his game against the Pelicans as he converted 10-of-19 shots, including 4-of-8 three-pointers. The 16-year veteran had 14 points in the first half, which ended with the Mavs ahead 62-49.
