CLEVELAND -- A little over three weeks ago, the Dallas Mavericks opened a three-game road trip with an overly impressive 105-83 win in Chicago.
They followed that up with a 100-98 victory in Minnesota and an 87-78 win in Washington.
After Monday's 102-97 win in Cleveland, the aforementioned route is one similar to the one the Mavs want to follow on the remainder of this three-game road trip which also includes stops in Toronto and Brooklyn.
"I think we definitely needed a win to start this trip off like we did that three-game trip in Chicago,''' forward Dirk Nowitzki said. "When we won that first game in Chicago and then won the other two it was a big trip for us.
"We kind of wanted to set the same tone here and start with a win and want to go from there.''
The Mavs (25-18) are now a very respectable 11-11 on the road this season. That includes an impressive 7-2 record over their last nine road games.
