BROOKLYN -- A three-game road trip which started off so promising ended with a thud for the Dallas Mavericks.
The Mavs opened the trip with a 102-97 win in Cleveland on Monday. Then they blew a 21-point lead and lost in Toronto on Wednesday 93-85.
That was followed by Friday's 107-106 loss to the red-hot Brooklyn Nets. A loss that left the Mavs wondering when they're going to get a break or two.
"We expected to 3-0 this week, plain and simple,'' forward Vince Carter said. "I don't really care what everybody else really think.
"It's what we felt that we could accomplish and we didn't get the job done. But the great thing about it is we can bounce back and kind of take care if business at home.''
The Mavs (25-20) open a four-game home stand Sunday night against the Detroit Pistons. The home stand also includes games against Houston, Sacramento and Cleveland.
