BOSTON -- Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Monta Ellis is the proverbial game-time decision as to whether he will play in tonight's contest against the Boston Celtics.
Tipoff at TD Garden is at 5 p.m. CST.
Ellis strained his right hamstring late in Friday's 103-81 victory over the Utah Jazz, but he did go through portions of Sunday morning's shootaround at TD Garden.
"If he can't play we'll have to have other guys step up, but there's a chance that he will (play),'' coach Riock Carlisle said. "So we'll see.
"You've got alternative scenarios. I'm not going to get into telling you who the lineup is or any of that.''
Carlisle wouldn't reveal the results of the MRI Ellis had on Saturday, or if he has a mild strain in his hamstring. And Ellis doesn't talk to the media after shootarounds.
"I told you all I'm going to tell you about it,'' Carlisle said. "I'm not going to get into that stuff.
"It's not that serious, so we'll see. Hopefully he'll be good to play, and if not we'll have to have some other guys step up.''
