DALLAS -- LeBron James scored a season-high 42 points Tuesday night to lead the Miami Heat to a 117-106 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.
James' previous season high was 39, which he scored against the Mavs during a November game in Miami.
On Tuesday, James was basically unstoppable as he converted 16 of 23 shots and also tossed in nine rebounds and six assists.
Also for Miami, Chris Bosh scored 22 points, Chris Andersen added 18 points, and Dwayne Wade had 13 points
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs with 22 points, nine reboounds and seven assists, Vince Carter scored 15, and Monta Ellis, Jose Calderon and Brandan Wright each tallied 12 points.
The Mavs led 95-92 with 7:47 left in the game, But the Heat went on a blistering 14-0 run led by James, who showed why he's won the league's Most Valuable Player award in four of the past five seasons.
James had back-to-back 3-pointers, a dunk and two free throws during the Heat;s 14-0 run.
