AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Dirk Nowitzki poured in 24 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 113-102 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Coupled with Friday's win in Philadelphia, the Mavs are 2-0 on this three-game road trip which ends Monday in New York against the Knicks.
Other than what they got from Nowitzki, the Mavs (34-23) had three players to post double-doubles. Monta Ellis finished with 12 points and 11 assists, Shawn Marion collected 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Samuel Dalembert wound up with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Josh Smith led the Pistons with 32 points.
Ellis had three key baskets down the stretch to help ward off the Pistons.
The Mavs led 29-27 after the first quarter, 64-54 at the half and 88-82 after three quarters.
