DALLAS -- Just because they're 3-0 against New Orleans this season doesn't mean the Dallas Mavericks will take the Pelicans lightly when the two clubs clash tonight at 7 at American Airlines Center.
"These guys are a hard-playing persistent team and they play in a lot of close games and they win some games on the road that a lot of people don't think they can win,'' coach Rick Carlisle said. "Our guys know that and we've got to understand the importance of the situation with every game being important, and we've just got to work it hard from start to finish.''
The Mavs own a pair of victories over the Pelicans in New Orleans -- 100-97 on Dec. 4 and 107-90 on Jan. 10. The Mavs also beat New Orleans in Dallas 110-107 on Jan. 11.
"We have a lot of respect for these guys because of how hard they play, and they play hard unconditionally even when they have a lot of their better players out,'' Carlisle said. "So that's how we'll handle it.''
