DALLAS -- With only three games remaining before the NBA All-Star break, forward Vince Carter doesn't want the Dallas Mavericks getting too comfortable and thinking that the break is already here.
The Mavs still have three road games against Boston, Charlotte and Indiana left before the Feb. 14-16 All-Star break. So remaining focused is key for the Mavs, who ran their record to 30-21 Friday after defeating the Utah Jazz 103-81 at American Airlines Center.
"We are starting to feel good about ourselves and are playing pretty good basketball,'' said Carter, who had nine points and a game-high eight reobunds against the Jazz. "But these three games are very important to us and we are hoping that the other (teams) are ready for the All-Star break, but not us.
"I think we have to take this a game at a time and not worry about the All-Star break until it gets here. This is where teams fall or rise because they are looking forward to those four or five days of the All-Star break. We can't do that.''
