DALLAS -- Dirk Nowitzki thought about the 10-2 record the Dallas Mavericks have pieced together over the past 12 games and then put on his analytic cap.
The only losses for the Mavs during this solid stretch was a season-worst 114-89 loss at Charlotte on Feb. 11, and a 117-106 setback at home on Feb. 18 to the two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat. Other than that the Mavs have been practically flawless.
"I thought here in February we’d be winning some games, but really you look at the schedule and it's all games we're supposed to win,' 'Nowitzki said. "Really besides the Charlotte game, where we were pretty bad, other than that all the games we’re supposed to win we’ve won by being, I guess, solid defensively is where it starts.''
Nowitzki, who brushed off a zinger in his left shoulder Wednesday to tally 18 points in the 108-89 victory over New Orleans, lauded the play of Brandan Wright and Devin Harris.
"With B-Wright and Devin back, I think they gave us another punch off the bench here,'' Nowitzki said. "They found their groove.
"I think we’ve got a lot of guys who can make plays and we’ve been scoring a lot of points, and that obviously helps.''
