DALLAS -- Chris Paul scored 31 points and handed out nine assists Thursday night to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 109-103 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.
The Mavs are now 43-30 overall and 3-3 on this eight-game homestand which resumes Saturday against the Sacramento Kings. The Clippers improves to 51-22.
Vince Carter led the Mavs with 23 points, Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 and Jae Crowder got 13.
Other than Paul, DeAndre Jordan finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Clippers, and Blake Griffin had 18 points and 13 rebounds. Griffin, however, had his streak of scoring at least 20 points snapped at 30 games in a row.
The game was tied at 81-81 after three quarters, then the Mavs scored the opening 10 points of the fourth quarter.
But the Mavs couldn't hold on and are now 0-3 against the Clippers this season.
Dallas was also ahead 101-97 with 1:46 remaining, but didn't execute well enough down the stretch.
