DENVER -- Rick Carlisle doesn't have a magic number planted in his head for his team to win in order to make the playoffs this season.
But the Dallas Mavericks' coach knows what his team's remaining 21 games represent.
"This is one of 21 Super Bowls for us remaining,'' Carlisle said after Wednesday morning's shootaround at the Pepsi Center. "Every team is dangerous.
"I don't try to get into that kind of stuff.''
What Carlisle does know is that the Mavs (36-25) need to be focused on the task at hand -- starting with tonight's 7 o'clock tipoff against the Denver Nuggets (25-34) -- and try to steer clear of looking ahead at the rough road they have to drive through the remainde rof the season.
"Each game is a winnable game, and you just got to go into it and strategize and try to get guys ready and that's your task for that particular day, and then it's the next one,'' Carlisle said. "But time goes by quickly in these situations because it is intensed, there's a lot going on with it and it's exciting to be a part of it.''
