DALLAS –- After San Antonio was manhandled Wednesday by Dallas in Game 2 of this best-of-seven series, the Mavericks are expecting the Spurs to play the game of the ages when the series resumes Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at American Airlines Center.
But the Mavs also hope to put up another quality game like they had in Game 2, when they completely annihilated the Spurs, 113-92, to knot the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
“We’ve just got to sustain what we’re doing, come out aggressive like we did and just play hard,’’ center DeJuan Blair said. “We’ve just got to keep our composure and know that it’s going to be some great runs.
“They’re going to be coming hard just like how we came after our first loss. It’s going to be a battle, and it’s going to be crazy in here.’’
Dallas' Game 2 road victory enabled the Mavs to take home court advantage away from the Spurs. But the Mavs know home court or no home court, this series is a long ways away from being over.
“We’ve got to just continue to play hard,’’ coach Rick Carlisle said. “We’ve got to bring our mistakes down and we’ve got to be ready for a team coming in here that’s going to play with a lot of force.’’
