DALLAS --The Dallas Mavericks will continue their aggressive defense when their playoff series with the San Antonio Spurs continue Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at American Airlines Center.
"We want to be aggressive, but we want to do it within our system,'' coach Rick Carlisle said. "We don't want to play willy-nilly and be doubling all over the place because this team will make you pay a price.
"We want to continue to do the good things that we’re doing and we’ve got to make some corrections, because we’re still making some mistakes. And they’re a great team and they make you make mistakes.''
The Mavs have only committed 16 turnovers total in the first two games of this best-of-seven series against the Spurs. Meanwhile, San Antonio turned the ball over 10 times in Game 1 and a whopping 24 times in Game 2 of a series that's tied 1-1.
Carlisle just want his team to keep applying pressure to the Spurs on a consistent basis.
"It’s just important that we do things within our system as much as possible,'' Carlisle said. "But we’ve got to keep our level at a very high level, especially coming back home.
"We cannot allow there to be any kind of letup here.''
