DALLAS -- Much has been made of the Golden State Warriors' high-powered offense. But it's their solid defense which has stymied the Dallas Mavericks this season.
In three games against the Warriors this season the Mavs are averaging just 93.7 points per contest. That's well below their overall average of 104.9 points per game.
The Mavs (44-30) hope to find their offensive punch against the Warriors (45-28) when the two teams meet tonight at 7:30 at American Airlines Center.
"They're a good defensive team, too,'' coach Rick Carlisle said after Tuesday morning's shootaround. "They've held us 10 below our scoring average in the three games.
"So we're going to have to do a lot of good things offensively to create really good opporitnities.''
The Mavs beat Golden State in Dallas, 103-99, on Nov. 27, but lost the last two encounters to the Warriors in Oakland. The Warriors won, 95-93, on Dec. 11 and 108-85 on Mar. 11.
