After getting to the track at 8am for a race which wasn't scheduled to start until 3:40pm, I had to sit through a three hour pre-race show.
This included musical performances along with a tribute to the previous winners of the first 50 Daytona 500s.
Next up was the driver introductions and then the concert, along with a whole lot of other stuff.
It seemed the drivers got a little bored with all the time to kill as they basically just had to sit around pit road and do nothing but wait.
Finally the nation anthem came and the Thunderbirds did a fly over and it was now race time.
