Texas Motor Speedway is set to host is third annual FanFest on Thursday, July 23, and this year's free, family-oriented event will add some local sports flavor to the motorsports-themed program.
Dallas Mavericks forward Josh Howard, Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett and former Cowboys stars Mel Renfro and Larry Brown will join NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver AJ Allmendinger and Miss Sprint Cup Monica Palumbo as special guests for the one-night affair and participate in one-hour autograph sessions. Howard and Renfro will be available from 6-7 p.m., Allmendinger and Palumbo from 7-8 p.m. and Bennett and Brown from 8-9 p.m. in the IndyCar Series (south) garage.
FanFest, which will run from 5-9 p.m. in the speedway infield area, also will give fans yearning for a racing experience the opportunity to catch a ride around Texas Motor Speedway’s 1.5-mile oval in either an official Texas Motor Speedway pace car or a Team Texas stock car. The Texas Driving Experience also will be giving rides on the infield road course. All pace car rides are free while Team Texas will be giving away 25 free rides and the Texas Driving Experience 50 as part of numerous giveaways on the evening.
The event is open to the public and no ticket is required for admission. Fans will enter through the South Tunnel to get to the infield where free parking will be available. For more information, fans can visit www.texasmotorspeedway.com.
