While she may have a new two-year contract with Andretti Autosport, Danica Patrick still hasn’t ruled NASCAR out of her future.
"I’ve made no mystery that I’m curious about NASCAR," Patrick said in a Tuesday teleconference. "If I have a chance to do it in both series and challenge myself, I would like to do that."
Patrick said she hasn’t put a deadline on when she’d like a NASCAR deal done. The first stock-car event she could run in is the ARCA/ReMAX Series race at Daytona International Speedway Feb. 6.
That would fit in Patrick’s schedule as she said Tuesday that if she competed in stock cars, it would mainly be before and after the IndyCar Series. The IndyCar Series begins March 14.
Patrick also said she’d be willing to work her way up in stock cars.
"I’d be very prepared to start small and grow," she said. "If it were to happen, I’d be open to all suggestions."
