July 23 (Friday)
It was the Gulf South vs. the Lone Star region American Sprint Car Series at the 1/4-mile banked Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night. There were 42 ASCS Sprints in the pit. A large crowd watched as Ray Allen Kulhanek, #21t, the 2005 Gulf South champion and the current points leader, lead all 25-laps to pickup his first feature win of the season. With a few laps to go, veteran Gary Wright, #9, made it interesting. Gary was closing fast on the leader, but had to back off because of a lap car, allowing Skip Wilson, #65, to slip by him for second place. Claud Estes, #74e, and Kolt Walker, #45k, rounded out the top five.
Shane Thompson had a bad flip during hot laps. Just a few of the 42 ASCS Sprints that were in the pits. For OFFICIAL results and more information, go to: www.heartotexspeedway.com
