Dean Abbey Southern SportMods winner at Kennedale Speedway Park

Dean Abbey was the IMCA Southern SportMods feature winner.

Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale)
April 30 (Saturday)

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Dean Abbey, #26, was running fourth, with less than a lap to go, when all the lead cars got together on the back stretch. Dean drove to the outside and on to the IMCA Southern SportMods feature win Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park. Sid Kiphen settled for second and Tom Earl Jr., #46, came in third.

Keith White was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.

Brent McDowell, #184, looked like he was going to get the IMCA Modifieds feature win, but current points leader Keith White, #1, passed him coming out of turn 4 with one lap to go to take the checkered flag. Richard Brown Jr., #77, came in third.

J.C. Howell was the IMCA Stock Cars feature winner.

Mabank's J.C. Howell, #103, was your feature winner in the IMCA Stock Cars feature. Duain Pritchett, #22, was second and Keith White, #1, was third.

In the Street Stocks feature, David Redmon, 12w, was the winner. Shawn Mize, #12, was second and Kirk Williams, #11w, was third.

Local Allen Montgomery, #38, was your IMCA Hobby Stocks feature winner. Kyle Harrison, #62, was second and Jeremy Montgomery, #11, was third.

Raven Culp was the RaceSaver Sprints feature winner.

In the RaceSaver Sprints feature, Raven Culp, #3, was the feature winner. Current points leader Dustin Woods, #05, was second and Brian Fielder, #69, was third.

Gary Taylor was The Oil Medics ASCS winner at Cowtown Speedway

Gary Taylor was The Oil Medics ASCS feature winner.

Cowtown Speedway (Kennedale)
April 30 (Saturday)

Gary Taylor, #1x, from Snohomish, WA, knows his way around Cowtown Speedway's 1/4-mile, banked, clay track. Gary was the winner of the opening night of last year's November Sprint Shootout. Gary's team made a last minute decision to come to Cowtown and didn't arrive until 5:30 p.m. No problem. Starting on the front row, along side pole sitter Andy Shouse, #36, Gary took the lead a few laps into The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region feature event and never looked back. Brady Bacon, #99, managed to get close, but had to settle for second place. Tony Bruce Jr., #18, was third.

Chad Wilson crashed into the retaining fence. He was not injured.

"Quick" Nick Clinkenbeard came in second in the Limited Modifieds feature.

Trevor Lane, #771, was your feature winner in the Limited Modifieds feature. Nick Clinkenbeard, #66, was second and Bret Young, #69, was third.

Colby Estes came in second in the 600 A-Class Mini Sprints feature.

Kyle Jones, #04, was the 600 A-Class Mini Sprints feature winner. Colby Estes, #71, was second and Chipper Wood, #47, was third.

Joey Starnes was your Restrictor Mini Sprints feature winner.

In the Restrictor Mini Sprints feature, Joey Starnes, #11b, was your feature winner. Garron Brimmer, #3g, was second and Lyndon Harvey, #99h, was third.

Larry Smitherman was the Bomber feature winner.

Larry Smitherman, #74, returned to the winner's circle in the Bomber's feature. Last week's winner Trey Smitherman, #96, was second and Troy Cooper, #35d, was third.

David Williams was the Wing Modifieds feature winner.

In the Wing Modifieds feature, David Williams, #22, was the feature winner. Choice Lynch, #34, was second and Steve Barton, #30, was third.
