Dean Abbey IMCA Southern SportMods winner at 85 Speedway

Dean Abbey was the IMCA Southern SportMods feature winner.

Several area race tracks were rained out Saturday night, but 85 Speedway, in Ennis, TX, was not one of them. The 1/4-mile, semi-banked, dirt oval track had a nice crowd and some extra race cars from the other tracks.

A nice crowd was on hand for the races Saturday night.

In the IMCA Southern SportMods feature, Dean Abbey, #26, fresh off a win at Boyd Raceway Friday night, started in the middle of the pack, but quickly worked his way to the front. Jason Gore, #21g, who took the early lead, put up a strong effort, but had to settle for second place. Tommy Davis Jr., #17d, was third and veteran Eddie Prator, #4, was fourth.

A hard charging Jason Gore ended up in second place in the IMCA Southern SportMods feature.

Jack Sartain was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.

In the IMCA Modifieds feature, Terrell, TX, Jack Sartain, #47, defeated Mike Hathcock, #03, for the A-main win. Jackson Davis, #65, was third.

Mike Hathcock came in second in the IMCA Modifieds feature.

Tommy Davis Jr. was the Street Stocks feature winner.

Tommy Davis Jr., #17d, defeated Jason Gore, #71m, for the Street Stocks feature win. Chris Clark, #47, was third.

Mike Marusak was the Bomber feature winner.

In the Bomber feature, Mike Marusak, #45, was the A-main winner. Kenny Garrett, #20g, was second and Albert McCall Jr. was third.

John Henry Smith was the Cruisers feature winner.

Poynor, Texas and current points leader John Henry Smith, #47, defeated Anita Lynn Smith, #44, for the Cruisers A-main. Jonathan Miller, #26, was third.
