Modifieds heat racing action Friday night.

It was good to see dirt track racing in Grand Prairie again. The remodeled Mountain Creek Speedway held their 1st Annual Race On Dirt. Friday night was qualifying for the Modifieds, SportMods, Street Stocks and Bombers. Sam Cox, No.3c, was the Modifieds qualifier winner. In the SportMods qualifiers, veterans Eddie Prator, No. 4, and Troy Taylor, No. 56, were your winners. Dan Day, No. 54, won the Street Stocks qualifier and Brian McHenery, No. 05, won the Bomber qualifier. In the Mini Sprints feature Ruben Brussard, No. 51, was the winner.
Ruben Brussard was the Mini-Sprints feature winner.
Sam Cox's Modified was declared illegal.
In Saturday's feature races, Sam Cox, No. 3c, was your Modifieds winner. Unfortunately a decision was made later that his car was not legal and was DQ'ed. Jack Sartain, No. 47, was declared the $1,500 winner with Scotty Brown, No. 44, coming in second and Ronnie Sigman, No. 15, coming in third. In the SportMods feature, Troy Taylor, No. 56, continued his winning ways. Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, was second and Jared Webb, No. 43, was third. Tommy Davis Jr., 17d, was the Street Stocks feature winner. Clint Frideley, No. 08, was second and Walter Hamilton, No. 1w, was third. Brian McHenry, No. 05, was the Bombers feature winner with David Newton, No. 54, second and Johnny Lowey, No. 46, third.
Troy Taylor was the SportMods feature winner.
Mountain Creek Speedway is located next to the historic Yello Belly Drag Strip in Grand Prairie.
