Mike Herring defeats "Hurricane" Henderson for SST win at Mountain Creek Speedway

Mike Herring was the SST Sprints feature winner.

Mike Herring, No. 99, defeated Rodney "Hurricane" Henderson, No. 67, to take the Sprint Series of Texas feature at Mountain Creek Speedway Friday night. A nice crowd was on hand to watch thirty Sprints compete for the twenty starting positions in the A-Main. Coming on strong was Jerry Hammock, No. 01, for third, Jason Howell, No. 44, was fourth and Gerry Kelley, No. 12, was fifth.

A couple of Sprints got together during the heat races.

Dillon Pike, No. 6, was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner. Rusty Travathan, No. 51, was second, Rusty Travathan Sr., No. 751, was third, Blaine Shives, No. 0, was fourth and  Mike Mclaughlin, No. 715, was fifth. Sam Cox, No. 3, seventh.

Kevin Rutherford, No. 9, defeated J.C. Howell, No. 84, to win the IMCA SportMods feature. Archie Whitt Jr., No. 76, was third, Justin Boone, No. 123, was fourth and A.J. Judkins, No. 69, was fifth.

Luke Fritchen turned over during the heat race.

Jake UpChurch, No.24, was the Street Stocks feature winner. Bryce Pritchett, No. 21, was second, Ricky Braddock, was third, Chris Clark, No. 47, fifth and Sean Wofford, No. 27s, was fifth.

For the second week in a row Kenny Garrett, No. 20g, was the Bomber feature winner. Leo Howell, No. 037, was second, Tanner Flannigan, No. 19, was third, Dillion Moss, No. 33, was fourth and Brian Marusak, No. XLY, was fifth.

Jim Lewis II, No. 87, was the Lone Star Dwarf Car feature winner. Jeffery Patterson, No. 5, Dallas Patterson, No. 32, James Lweis III, No. 88, and Craig Turner, No. 64, rounded out the top five. 

A nice crowd was on hand to watch the races.
