Bloggin' is Racin': Raven Culp cruises to Sprint Series of Texas win at Kennedale Speedway Park

Smiley Sitton said before the races that this was a kid to keep your eye on. Raven Culp, No. 39, proved Smiley right. Once he took the lead in the Sprint Series of Texas feature race Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park, he never looked back. Jerry Hammock, No. 01, who won the Sprint feature at Mountain Creek Speedway Friday night, came on strong, but had to settle for second. Another talented young driver, Jason Howell, No. 44, was third, Keith Sturgeon, No. 77, was fourth and Robert Vetter, No. v8, was fifth.

Keith White, No.1, passed Jeremy Willis, No. 010, with a couple of laps to go, to take the IMCA Modifieds feature. Richard Brown Jr., No. 77, was third, Damon Hammond, No. 116, was fourth and John Gober, No. 52, was fifth.

J.C. Howell, No. 103, was the IMCA SportMods feature winner. Dean Abbey, No. 26, was second, Matt Robbins, No. 52, was third, Austin Theiss, No. 7, was fourth and Kevin Rutherford, No. 9, was fifth.

David Cook, No. 32, looked like he was going to get the Street Stocks feature win, but with one lap to go, lap traffic allowed Justin Lamar, No. 121, to pass him. Cook came on strong, but hit the track tires coming out of turn 2, allowing Justin to get the win. Lance Hanson Jr., No. 5h, was second, Demetrius Carter, No. 44, was third, Kirk Williams, No. 11, was fourth and David Cook, No. 32, was fifth.

Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was thr IMCA Stock Cars feature winner. Ryan Powers, No. r12, was second, Keith White, No. 1, was third, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fourth and J.C. Howell, No. 103, was fifth.

Chase Neill, No. 1, was the IMCA Hoby Stocks feature winner. Jeremy Oliver, No. 82, was second, Tommy Phillips, was third, Ben Lucas, No. 7l, ws fourth and Wes Games, No. 55, was fifth.

John Freeman, No. 21, defeated Calton Pritchett, No. 12c, for the Jr. Mini feature win. Austin Carter, No. 1, was third, Tyler Smith, No. 24, was fourth and Logan Carter, No. 44, was fifth.
