A little rain didn't dampen the spirits of over two hundred race teams Friday night at the second annual Port-A-Cool U.S. National Dirt Track Championships at Texas Motor Speedway. Modifieds and Limited Modifieds tried to quailfly for the A-features Saturday night. There were eleven heats of Limited Modifieds and nine heats of Modifieds. Local favorite Troy Taylor, No. 56, wrecked his Limited Modified and failed to make the top 8 in the Modifieds. Troy and hundreds of other drivers will get another chance Saturday to qualify for the A-features.
