Doug Easterling defeats William Gould to take the IMCA Modified season opener at Boyd Raceway

Doug Easterling was the IMCA Modified feature winner.

Boyd Raceway held it's season opener Friday night. A nice crowd was on hand along with a large number of race cars in the pits. If the IMCA Modified feature race is any indication of the racing this season at Boyd, the fans are in for some exciting racing.

GOD is awesome.

IMCA Modified Feature: Oklahoma's William Gould, No. 60, quickly shot to the lead in the IMCA Modified feature. Gould managed to put some distance between himself and the field with the main battle being for second place. Doug Easterling, No. 88, had managed to take over the second spot when a caution came out and tightened the field. With one lap to go, it looked like William Gould was going to get the win, but coming out of turn 4 Easterling managed to pass Gould at the finish line and take the hard fought win. William Gould, No. 60, ended up second, Eric Winnett, No. 21, was third, Mark Patterson, No. 01, was fourth and Matt Yates, No. 15, was fifth.

IMCA SportMods Feature: Dean Abbey, No. 26, was the IMCA SportMods feature winner. Chad Hertel, No. 59, was second, Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was third, Brad Shirley, No. 00, was fourth and Tyler Fain, No. 77, was fifth.

IMCA IStocks Feature: Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was the IMCA IStocks feature winner. Cory Davis, No. 28, was second, Mike Childs, No. 01, was third, Dennis Bisssonette, No. 07d, was fourth and Ronie Welborn, No. 20, was fifth.
