A good crowd was on hand to watch the 9th Annual Gordon Woolley Classic at Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night. Almost thirty Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region ASCS Sprints competed for the $2,500 prize money sponsored by Life Partners, Inc.
ASCS Sprint Winner: Fort Worth's Kevin Ramey, No. 7m, started on the pole in the ASCS 25-lap feature. It looked like he was going to run away with it, but Cole Wood, No. 17w, passed him about half way through the race only to have a caution come out. Kevin wasn't about to let that happen again. On the restart, Ramey jumped to the lead and went on to take the feature win. Channin Tankersley, No. 71, was second, Tommy Bryant, No. 28, was third, Brandon Berryman, No. 31, was fourth and Martin Edwards, No. 45, was fifth. Cole Wood dropped out with mechanical problems.
The Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region Sprints travel to Texas Thunder Speedway in Killeen Saturday night.
