A large crowd was on hand to watch some exciting racing at Boyd Raceway Friday night. Eighteen mighty IMCA Modifieds started the feature, only seven finished. On the second lap of the 20-lap A-main, Abilene's Tommy Fain, No. 90, hit Marc Beltz, No. 412, entering turn 1, causing Tommy's car to roll several times resulting in a major wreck. On the restart, Sam Cox, No. 3c, jumped out to the lead. Charles Brewer and William Gould, No. 60, battled for the backup spot. With only a few laps to go, Sam Cox and William Gould got into it coming out of turn 4 with Gould ending up in the wall. Sam Cox was black flagged. Abilene's Charles Brewer, No. 72, held off Josh McGaha, No. 911, to take the win. Eric Winnett, No. 21, was third, Ralph King, No. 5, was fourth and Chris Simmel, No. 29, was fifth.
