The Casey's Cup powered by Swan Energy United States Modified Touring Series rolled into the Superbowl Speedway Thursday night. The weather was beautiful and a large crowd turned out for the USMTS show. Over 50 Modifieds battled it out for the twenty-six starting positions in the $2,000 to win 40-lap A-main. This was the first of three nights of racing. Friday night the series moves to Timberline Speedway in Corley, TX and finishes up Saturday night at Ark-La-Tex Speedway.
Johnny Scott secures Modified Feature Victory: Las Cruces, NM, Johnny Scott, No. 1st, cruised to the $2,000 USMTS Modified win Thursday night. Cody Smith, No. 18s, started tenth and finished second, defending National Champion Rodney Sanders, No. 20, was third, Local Clyde Dunn Jr. No. 88xxx, was fourth and rounding out the top five was Jake Gallardo, No. j17.
Johnny Scott caught a break early in the heat races.

Melton muscles his way to Limited Modified win: Wayne Melton, No. 18m, defeated Ronny Gould, No. 1, to take the Limited Modifieds feature. Michael Newhard, No. 14n, was third, Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, was fourth and Billy Brierton, No. 43, was fifth.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Tommy McKinley, No. 71m, was the run-a-way winner in the Factory Stocks A-main. Kevin Meyer, No. 11, was second, Richard Miller, No. 34, was third, Jeff Sonntag, No. 73, was fourth and Jeff McDaniel, No. 24m, was fifth.
