Sam Hafertepe Jr., No. 15h, held off Channin Tankersley, No. 11, for the Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region American Sprint Car Series win at Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night. With one lap to go, in the 25-lap feature, Sam appeared to be well on his way to victory. However, coming out of turn 4, he made a slight bobble that made for an exciting finish. Channin came close, but settled for second. Tyson Hall, No. 5x, who started from the fifteenth position, was third, Brandon Berryman, No. 31, was fourth and Jake Martens, No. 48, was fifth. Calab Martin, No. 51, Tommy Bryant, No. 28, Chris Sweeney, No. 93, Klint Angelette, No. 19, and Claude Estes, No. 74e, round out the top ten. Twenty-six Sprints were in the house.

IMCA Modified Winner: P.J. Egbert, No. 707, defeated J.P. Dowell, No. 715, in a close one. G.W. Egbert, No. 717, was third, Keith White, No. 1, was fourth and Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was fifth. Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, Ronnie Warren, No. 34w, Brandon Stewart, No. 2, Joe Spillman, No. 44, and Chase Allen, No. 930, round out the top ten.
